Description
Under work package 4, Re-surface and reimagine: Experiential Futures Workshops, we are organizing and analyzing experiential futures workshops across seven regions, with a focus on challenges facing regional aquatic ecosystems. Its primary objectives include empowering young people to contribute to the preservation of aquatic ecosystems, co-creating future perspectives on their relationship with water bodies, and generating a catalogue of envisioned futures.
Through the seven workshops we aim to engage a total of 150 young people from across Europe and beyond, aged 16 to 30, tailored to reflect the demographic diversity of the region it represents. We aim to involve participants which are often overlooked, such as those with lower levels of formal education. We will employ online tools and interactive methodologies for in presence activities to facilitate dialogue, collect data, and ensure a participatory experience. The workshops will culminate in a ‘cascade’ effect, where participants are expected to disseminate their experiences and learnings within their communities, amplifying the project’s impact.
The results of WP4 will be a comprehensive catalogue of future visions for aquatic ecosystems, alongside a comparative analysis that considers various demographic variables. This analysis aims to refine the model of young people’s spatial relationships with water, offering valuable insights for future initiatives. The outcomes will contribute to a broader understanding of youth engagement in environmental conservation, supporting the creation of more targeted and effective strategies for aquatic ecosystem preservation.
