Since we began our journey in January, we have been looking forward to the upcoming co-creation event in Brussels.
If you have followed FLOW for some time, you might already know that we organised FLOW Experiential Futures Workshops across Europe to engage young people, understand their concerns and hopes, and explore the futures they imagine for themselves, water ecosystems, and more-than-human entities.
We engaged 134 young people, and it is now time to invite some of these young FLOWers to Brussels for our co-creation event. We will have 100 participants, with approximately 70 young people joining us from all parts of Europe.
What do we aim to achieve through this event? We seek to create blueprints for stewardship assemblages for water bodies. Specifically, we want to understand how young people and other actors come together to advocate for the future they envision for water bodies, the types of actions they take, the motivations behind those actions, and the impact they create.
To achieve this, we will organise workshops dedicated to various topics such as more-than-humans, the blue economy, and activism. We will also have region-specific workshops. These will be followed by presentations of blueprints from the workshops and panel discussions.
Last but not least, our partner, Volonteurope, is leading the ECI for a Water-Smart and Resilient Europe to collect one million signatures in order to advocate for water and its future and to foster political ownership among citizens across the EU. The launch of this campaign will take place at the end of the co-creation event.
Mark your calendars! We will be at Ateliers des Tanneurs from 09:00 to 17:00 on the 11th of October in Brussels.
